Has anyone ever tried case repair by casting new plastic in place? I have a clone with part of the top and sidewall smashed and I was thinking I might be able to do a clean cut around the smashed part, take a casting of the other side, and then use the casting to mold a new piece of plastic in place. The only thing I have my doubts about is how well the repaired section might hold together. Somebody out there must have tried this, right?
Hi, Do you have some photo of your clone ?I don't know if you could manipulate plastics, but I guess it will be easier to use resin like the polyurethane resin. The only drawback of the method is that you can't match the exact color of your case. Resin are very resistant, and cutting the smashed part with a small bevel is enough to get a solid result.
