Setting up file transfers (non-ADT)

My never ending quest to achieve what seems to be the impossible (for me,)
which is sending a shrinkit file from my PC to my Apple has finally tipped
my mind over that "edge" that everyone talks about. If I had a baseball bat,
I would beat my Apple 2e to pieces. The light of understanding has burned
out for me, and at the moment, I believe that transferring files is not
REALLY possible -that all the old timers learned that back in the late
seventies, and they use this hook of A2 communication as the metaphorical
Snipe Hunt for us new A2 users. Those tempting shrinkit files aren't real.
They're air files, there to act as bait to get us newbies to "try it just
one more time."

Well, the laugh is on me. I fell for it, and you caught me with my mouth
open. I'm going to crawl away now, and see if I can rebuild my confidence
again -I'll start with something simple, like turning my computer on. If I
can at least figure out how to do that, then maybe I won't feel so small and
pathetic... now where is that switch...
