bob, if you want to know if a piece of software is legal,
ie: freeware or shareware, I'd suggest you visit the
Trenco ftp site.  All of the software there is checked
for it's legality, and the freeware notices where
applicable are available from the system admin.  I recall
recently where one (count 'em--one) file was found to still
be copyrighted, and it was immediately pulled.  You'll
also note that the Turlettes rarely mention Trenco when
they mention FTP sites.  WOnder why.  :)

Ground has been pretty good too, lately, of making sure
things are legal--they'd be a good source too. (is this
yet again a good mea culpa, Steve?  :) )

Ground's ftp address is mentioned here often enough.  Since
Trenco's isn't, here it is:   ftp.gno.org
