I'd install it. It's really quite useful and is a cool thing to have.
I have mine in slot 6 - I alternate between it and a pair of 5.25 drives.
Works perfectly and (at least, I presume!) with this set-up, power drain is
minimised.
The real benefit is a hidden one: if you patch ProDOS using the patcher
provided on the AE disk, you will get access to two additional drives under
GSOS: the PCT's RAM can be used as a 752K RAM disk (shows up as drive 1 for
the slot that you have PCT in) and the _largest_ floppy drive you have
hooked up to it appears as drive 2 for that slot.
But I have to admit - in its primary role as a PC, it isn't really all that
useful anymore: a NEC V30-powered PC is kind of obsolete.
