The original Wozniak FP code fit in 256 bytes. I was at a conference once where
someone had made some clever but fairly simple changes to this little jem so
that it did arbitrary precision. He could use a 20 byte mantissa if he chose
for example.
The paper is among the FORML archives somewhere from the anuala Asilomar
conference.
