The Cirtech InSyder card has only 4 chips (if I remember correctly).

5380	SCSI chip
2764	EPROM
74LS???	8 bit data buffer
PAL	decoder

The trick is that if you want to handle an Apple Partition table then
you probably need on board RAM as the slot holes do not have enough space.
Handling removable disks should just need more code in ROM.
