     At least some power connectors are like that. You squeeze on the sides of the plug kind of near the top. This levers out side panels (which have slots fitting over bumps on the socket) and allows removal of the plug.

     If the part you would squeeze is gone, examine the plug and socket. If there is part of the plug covering the outside of the socket you will probably have to wedge it away from the socket to remove the plug.
