To bring the Athlon's speed into perspective. It has a 200 mhz
bus speed unlike the Pentium III's 100 mhz and the Celeron's
66 mhz speeds. This accounts for the crisp response from an
Athlon equipped CPU. Another problem, it is not an upgrade
item unless most of your parts are pretty new. AMD has only
certified a few motherboards and power supply systems for
the Athlon. After working with them on several systems, I
like the cpu but for the customer, I tell them to expect to
buy a new computer.

I was really looking forward to the power of the dual cpu
systems, but it was never supported by the popular OS's
except Linux and the latest release of Win NT and I think
Win 2000.

But we are seriously getting off topic here. So I will
say this. I test ran Kegs (Linux GS emulator) on my son's
850 mhz Athlon and it was awesome compared to my AMD
K62-500.
