Re: Spectrum Automated Mailer (SAM)

All sarcasm aside, the very last piece of the TCP/IP puzzle for IIGS users
really is a newsreader. It's now only usenet which ties us IIGS users to
having to use a shell account.

The programmers who have released TCP/IP-aware software to date are
Richard Bennett, Geoff Weiss, Ewen Wannop, and Eric Shepherd. I have not
seen any of them on usenet for a long, long, long time and knowing how
they all feel about csa2, I do not think any of them would even consider
writing a TCP/IP-aware newsreader.

So, if IIGS users ever hope to have a TCP/IP-aware newsreader, it must
originate from a IIGS programmer who does participate in csa2.

Technical programming information about Marinetti is available. All that
is lacking is the programmer to create the newsreader. The solution lies
somewhere on this newsgroup.

So, for those of you who do program the IIGS for fun or profit, please
consider writing a Marinetti-aware newsreader.

Stepping off soapbox...
