As a check, I downloaded the INSTALL and SYSTEM.DISK files from April 2000
GSWV (i.e from the IIgsSystem601disks/ folder at ...

http://www.grin.net/~cturley/gsezine/GS.WorldView/v2000/Apr/Archives/ ). The
download was done using the current version of Netscape to a standard 233MHz
PC.

INSTALLsdk.bin (downloaded size on PC is 522,514 bytes)
SYSTEMDISKsdk.bin (downloaded size on PC is 584,088 bytes)

Note: These are .sdk ShrinkIt whole-disk 3.5" archives. The ".bin" suffix helps
to avoid corruption when downloading from an http site.

The two whole-disk archive files were transferred to our IIgs and arrived with
no change in file size.

Using 8-bit ShrinkIt v3.4, each file was unshrinked to a ProDOS formatted 3.5"
disk. (Diskettes are regular DS/DD 3.5" type.)

The ProDOS file in the main directory of each disk checked out as 1.668kB (3kB
on disk)-- so, it's the 'little ProDOS' file.

Both diskettes booted fine on our main IIgs and on another IIgs which has
just an Apple 1MB board in the Mem Expansion Slot. The System.Disk boots to the
Finder desktop display. The Install disk boots to the installation screen.

The System 6.0.1 disks on GS WorldView are also available on Tarnover and
(in a .zip file) on Asimov.

What is a "1.6 MB RAM board"? Where is it installed?

To boot System 6.0.1 you will need to have at least 1MB of IIgs Expansion
Memory installed in the Expansion Memory Slot (the special Slot near the
right-front of the motherboard).

If you do not have a good memory card to plug into the IIgs Expansion
Memory Slot, maybe 'the Future is Now'!
