Irrelevant -- puritanism and religion are not the same thing. There are
religious non-puritans, so why shouldn't there be ahteist puritans? Puritanism
is a lifestyle, not a religion.

Well, it does exist in society as a whole -- not just in families. BTW
one way to make these "forbidden words" less exiting could be overexposure.
My son doesn't swear any more now than before he saw the movie. And I
still try to teach him to avoid sloppy language.
