That error is a Memory Manger error and means "Unable to allocate
memory." This means that while booting, your IIgs seems to have run
out of memory.
How much memory is in your IIgs?

Now that just shouldn't happen. Does the splash screen say "No
Inits/DAs" above the thermometer bar when you boot? If not, then the
IIgs isn't seeing the fact that you have the shift key down or you're
pressing the shift key too late.
By the way, EasyMount is a Finder Extra but they don't get loaded if
you've shift booted.
