The product isn't called SAM.  We just refer to it as such to save us
from having to type Spectrum Automated Mailer all the time.  Many
people much prefer acronyms and use them to make it quicker to type
stuff.

For instance, we commonly refer to Apple's Video Overlay Card as the
VOC but I don't see Creative Labs, or anyone else for that matter,
getting upset because we are using the name for an audio file format.

By the way, I think the SAM you mentioned is also an ancronym for
Software Automated Mouth or something similar so even it isn't
actually called SAM.
