GSII boots only in PROdos

My GSII will only boot from the Install disk (6.0.1 disk 1), and then
only into PROdos. It used to boot from the System disk (disk 2).
Could it be because of a dead battery?
If I had never booted from the System disk, I wouldn't know that
something was out of kilter. When I *do* boot the machine (in PROdos),

Maybe someone played with the PRODOS file in your boot disk.
CATALOG your boot disk and see how many ks the prodos disk has.
If it is 2?k then you have the right prodos for GSOS, if it has 15?k
then it is the Prodos8 version and it will always go into Prodos8.
