If it really is error number 5, that is actually an "END OF DATA" error,
but Mystery House might be misreporting it (e.g. an ONERR GOTO handler
which is printing out its own error message, including the error number,
with its own interpretation of the meaning).
An END OF DATA error means that a program attempted to read or position
past the end of a file (usually a text file). The most likely cause is
a damaged file (or a bug in the program).
I'd suggest locating another source for a copy of Mystery House.
