Hello everyone. This may be a dumb question, but how do I get this to work.
I have downloaded ShrinkIt1.1.SEA from Apple's website and assume that it is
a self extracting file. I am using it PC to download it then transfering it
to a Mac and finally to 3 1/2" Prodos disk from the Mac. This method worked
fine for downloading the System 6.0.1 disk images to a PC then transfering
to a Mac to make disks but I can not get shrinkit to work. It will not self
extract on the Mac or on the IIGS.
I would download it to the Mac but the Mac is not connected to the Internet.
Any help would be appreciated.

Some .sea files are for Mac and others are for IIgs. (The files on
Apple's site seem to be intended for handling on a Mac.) If the SEA file you
downloaded does not self-extract on either machine, it is probably because it
has lost its filetype and is not recognized as executable. If you have a way
to set filetype, you could try setting it to $B3 (an SYS16 file on a IIgs).
An alternative is to visit Ground's Useful Stuff folder at
ftp://ground.ecn.uiowa.edu/apple2/useful.stuff/ and download GSUTILS.sdk. This
is a whole-disk 3.5" archive which includes ShrinkIt IIgs (a.k.a.
"GS-ShrinkIt"). It can be unshrinked to 3.5" diskette on your IIgs using
8-bit ShrinkIt. For more info read GSUTILSinfo.txt .
If you need 8-bit ShrinkIt, it is available in a self-extracting file
(Shrink.exe) in the same folder. Directions are in SHRINK.EXE.INFO.txt .
