That is good to know. I've run Sys6 on a 3MB system-- don't recall
trying it on anything smaller.

Yes; going above 4MB for Expansion Memory is not generally
recommended. (The Apple IIgs Hardware Reference discourages it, too) On
the other hand, 'not recommended' does not necessarily equal "don't do
it".
No one has ever done a comprehensive guide (e.g. for all of the
common ROM-01 and ROM 3 IIgs setups) for using the Sirius card with 8MB
installed. For your particular accelerator + SCSI + ... setup, you may
or may not have full DMA, etc. under whatever version of System,
ProDOS-8, ... you boot.
Since the features you lose (if any) could turn out to be
relatively minor compared with the gain of having more RAM and since the
cost of 8MB vs 4MB is fairly small, getting the card with 8MB isn't such
a bad idea so long as you do not mind experimenting. Otherwise, 4MB is
the way to go.
