Looking for Sun Remarketing Controller Info
This is not Apple II, but there is no dedicated Lisa newsgroup...
Recently I got a Lisa 2/- with an internal hard drive upgrade made by
Sun Remarketing. This hard drive consists of a 20MB MFM unit and a
controller card that connects to a twiggy cable and to the external
parallel port.
The controller is labeled 'Part No. 000 0001, Ser.-No. SUN-2004'. On the
Eprom there is a sticker with 'SUN CONTROLLER REV F'.
On the back of the pcb are Widget-like connectors for power and the
parallel cable and an additional Twiggy connector to draw power from a
2/- (2/-, 2/5 do not have the power connector for internal drives). In
the front are the two MFM cables and the power cable for the drive, a
three pin port that goes to the microcontroller's serial interface and a
Ready led.
Up to now the Lisa recognizes the drive and says '85' (Drive cannot keep
up, whatever that means). There are a lot of configuration jumpers on
the board. Now I need to know their function or default setting. What
can I do with the serial port? Formatting the drive I suppose.
Is there an email address at Sun remarketing where I can reach someone
who knows about their former Lisa products? On Sun's Web site they do
not mention any support, but they still have a few Lisa parts in their
catalog.
