Re: Was the IIGS ever sold in Europe? --> Advice on where to source!
Hello Jan!
Being located in Scandinavia myself I can give you some advice on where to
look:
The easiest way would be to look the at 'Ebay' and 'Yahoo' auction sites in
Germany / Denmark / UK, as I've seen IIGS-units being advertised there from
time to time.
Another place to check out is the German '8-bit Nirvana' "Flohmarkt" on
URL:
http://www.zock.com/8-Bit/flohmarkt.cgi?
NOTE! Make sure you dont get ripped off, use the following link as guideline
for what you should offer:
http://www.i-m.de/home/compmuseum/sammler/preise.htm
For a well-maintained IIGS unit you should expect a price around DM 150-200.
Make sure it supports 220V voltage, or you will need a US voltage-adapter.
---> You would probably require a separate ADB-compliant keyboard supporting
your national keysets, for instance the 'Apple Extended Keyboard II' for
Mac if you want to do anything with the box besides from playing games.
Have fun!
