Judging from your later posts, it sounds like the battery is OK. The
next thought which occurs to me: how much RAM do you have in your
system?
There is a bug in the ROM 3 firmware which prevents it from creating the
/RAM5 volume if you have 8 MB of RAM.
If you boot into System 6.0.1, the system checks for this situation, and
if the RAM disk has been configured in the control panel, then it is
created automatically. If I remember right, this fix is inside the
PRODOS file (the first stage GS/OS loader).
If you are booting directly into ProDOS-8, then this fix won't happen,
and you will have no /RAM5 volume after startup.
