Apple IIgs - 2 disk drives?

OK. I got the ram disk disabled. Disks from the second drive still do
not show
up. In copy II plus, slot 5 drive 1 works, but when I try a catalog on
s5, d2,
it says 'no disk in drive' with no attempt to even read the disk. And
why are
