Hi Professor
They have sort of done what your suggesting and you can find out about the rom
disk card that Tony Diaz designed. I've forwarded your message to him and he
should get back to you in a day or two.

>Dear Sheane,
>I was told of an attempt to create an updated version of an Apple IIGS. I
wrote to you in the hope I'm onto the correct thread.
>I've been programming Apple2's since 1980, and I also fool around with Apple2
hardware. I'd post this email, but since my account runs on a strange variant
of UNIX, I cannot do this from home. I've had a stroke which limits my vision
and I'm dependent on my wife for getting into my office where I can post
messages on ng comp.sys.apple2. Please feel free to post anything I write.
>Have you noticed that the ROM sockets in a GS 03 motherboard have an extra 4
holes beyond their 28-pin sockets? I have seen a 32-pin ROM in where the
ordinary 1-Meg 28 pin ROM normally resides. There are 2, 4, and even 8Meg ROM's
on 32-pin chips. How about putting ALL of system 6 (or whatever else) into ROM
for fast access? There are all sorts of utilities which could fit into the
(vast) excess ROM space.
