There may be a hardware problem in both of the drives or the IIgs.
First, though, it may help to know that when you have a RAM Disk set up
(/RAM5), Slot 5 Drive 2 is mapped to the RAM disk. The second 3.5" drive gets
mapped to another Slot (don't remember which for a 2-drive system). You could
boot a ProDOS version of Copy II Plus and try doing a CATALOG of the drives
listed.
Otherwise, some additional information could help:
o- What OS are you using when trying out the drives? Like, are you booting GS
System with the super-res 'Desktop' display or ProDOS-8 with a Text display?
o- When you say that eject is okay, how are you doing the eject? Are you
pressing the button on the drive?
o- Have you tried connecting a couple 5.25" drives to the GS (directly to the
GS Disk Drive socket or after the 3.5" drives)? Do both drives work?
