Well there are also those 120MB capacity floppy drives that are backward
compatible with 1.44MB disks, but I don't know if they are capable of GRC
encoding though.

Well how about some kind of conversion box. Apple doesn't hold the patent on
the connectors themselves as they are the same type as S-Video. If someone
could build a little box that converts ADB based signals to USB, I'd imagine it
could work. Though I can't imagine the cost of such an item would be.
