IIe gui, which is best?

I finally got my original Apple SCSI card working, it turned out to have
a bad EPROM. (many thanks to the gentleman who burned a new Rev C EPROM
for me!) I removed the HS SCSI from my GS to test it, all seems to work
well. I decided that this Rev C card will live in my Platinum IIe (for
no rational reason). I installed the card in my IIe and it works fine
with my GSs hard drive, so I'm scrounging around for parts to put
together a HD for the IIe.

In a futile attempt to make a long story short: I've been playing around
with Apple II Desktop, but not much software seems to run under that
particular gui. Is there a better one? Should I just use a program
launcher? Which one works best on a IIe starting up from a HD?
