I've purchased a Imagewriter I-cable for the IIC which is wired as a
'0-modem cable."
The cable is connected to PC by a 25p./9p. converter and a 9p gender changer
to fit the 9p. serial port on the PC.
Whith the cable connected into the IIc the machine refuse to start when
powering up, but it starts immediately when removing the 0-modem cable or
turning off the PC-mains.
Anyway, the IIC operates normally if connecting the 0-modem cable after
booting. Following this procedure, I' tried the following to establish a
serial connection for transmitting the the ADT 1.22 (Apple Disk Transfer)
code downloaded from the Asimov FTP-site.
I 've generated a system disk DOS 3.3 from 'Copy II+ 8.3', rebooted and
issued the command 'IN#2', acc. to the readme-file for the ADT package.
I started up the 'Win 98 Hyperterminal' software on the PC-side with
settings : 300 N 8,1/ Hardware flow control.
No other commands are issued at this point. I then tried to transfer the
Apple-code using the "Send Text File" in Hyperterminal, but no activity is
recorded on the IIc. What type of activity should be expected by doing
this type of transfer?
Should I try other settings on the IIC or in the 'Hyperterminal', or might
anything be wrong with the cable-setup?
Any advice on this appreciated!
Best regards
