Agreed. The problem with ProDOS 8 software should be given
serious consideration.

GS/OS apps are different because they rely exclusively on the
System Software tools and GS/OS itself to interpret the date.
That's why even an early GS program like AppleWorks GS that
was last updated in 1989 gets it right. It gets it right because
System 6.0.1 gets it right.
