Actually, I discovered recently that a third party manufacturer is making
LocalTalk cards for the IIGS.  This was posted by a csa2 reader who
was looking up information about the IIGS/Mac serial chip.  Check the
http://www.dejanews.com/ DejaNews archive and search for "AppleTalk"
or "Localtalk" on csa2 in the last two months.  He posted the URL for
the source of the cards and they were not prohibitively expensive either.

Unfortunately, I didn't archive the post nor do I remember exactly who
posted it.  Forrest, I think.
