Re: You guys are NUTS !
I find it kind of sad that no one is willing to create new
software for a machine they claim to love. I decided years
ago that I would have to write a majority of the programs I
use simply because I have always had problems acquiring any
software due to location. Because I treat this as a hobby,
perhaps my viewpoint is skewed, but I doubt that anyone will
make very much on any A2 software due to the limited user
base.
But, if you look at the linux community, you see a large
group of people who love the system and work hard to keep
software updated as well as create new applications, and
most of these are GPL freeware. I think the mindset of most
of the A2 developers is stuck in the early 80's. They have
not realized that the only new programs we will get, will be
the ones we make ourselves and to help the community grow
or at least survive, we need to share our work. By sharing,
we at least show we still mean it when we say we love the
Apple II!
BTW: It really is possible to work on more than one project
at a time. I've done this before. Granted, they were smaller
programs.
