    Good question!  The CF card was most likely partitioned using the
Chinook SCSI Utility (CSU) with an Apple SCSI card.  I'm going to
format a 32 MB CF card on a Windows machine as a FAT volume then take
that card and partition it as a ProDOS volume to see if I can
duplicate the problem.  CFFA users can't experience this problem
because the CFFA doesn't create a Mac partition map.  I bought a CFFA
some time ago but have never used it because of that.

In the past, I remember having to partition a drive on the Mac if I
wanted to be able to remount it on the Mac after creating a ProDOS
partition.
