The answer is indeed positive. You will need the terminal
program called Spectrum for email and for web browsing,
get the browser plug in for it. See the following URL:

Not as fancy as web browsing with a PC, but you can get
most of the information content of a web page with this
browser.
For a modem, I recommend a 28.8 one or faster. The
IIGS will connect to external modems sold for the Mac or
PC with a Mac to modem cable sold in any store that has
Mac stuff. A 14.4 modem will also work, but will be slower
for web browsing. It would be ok for email though.
