not really. The fact that most mac users only internet and/or desktop
publish [as you say photo/video] makes the mac stable. In fact its the
same exact way a PC user sees a stable system eg the ones that limit use
of apps and use the same ones every day in and day out. 

When you experiment, or repace hardware or upgrade, download/install
mucho software, any computer and any OP system will have quirks to
figure out. The fact that more folks use a PC seems to you that more
folks are asking questions.  Macs are like a business machine, PCs are
way more flexible than any apple, way cheaper to fix, and way easier to
upgrade
