As someone who has had his working files saved several
times, I can heartedly reccomend getting an UPS,
Supertimer.  I agree with the post that followed (sorry,
I fumbled and lost the name) that some units may not give
you as much power as you may need, so go with the most
you can afford.  As far as the issue of batteries, I
always change mine every 2 years, on advise of a friend
who builds/reconditions used UPS units.  The one I'm
using now is a smalish one from Tripplight, and it gives
me 5-10 min of ontime .  Enough to save and exit.
(I'm a Murphy's Law fan--the theory I've developed is
that the power will fail in a time consistent with the
importants of the paper.  : )
