UPS's are designed to work with computers, so that's probably not a major
concern. However, as a computer tech I'm ambivalent about the value of a
UPS.
My experience is that they tend to cause more problems than they solve. The
reason is, they are rarely used so the batteries or some other part tend to
go bad, causing mysterious reboots, etc. and of course, when you actually
have a power failure, they don't work if the battery has gone bad.
If you do use a UPS, you really have to read the specs and compare them with
the power consumption of your particular equipment, and test it regularly.
