What is "doesn't work"? Are the drives unusable after the lobotomy? Or
do they suffer from the same symptoms as before (flashing lights, slow,
etc)?
Did they work at all before you lobotomized them? Have you tested that?
(Yes, they are supposed to work without lobotomizing them.)
You are aware of the fact that lobotomizing causes them to fail on //e
and //c computers, do you?

Anyway, a much better alternative would have been to trade them in for
Apple 3.5 Drives. The lobotomy is supposed to be reversible, but rumour
has it that reversing isn't as easy as it seems.
