You will find that should read 56k. The last modem to use a multiple of 300bps
was the v.32 9600bps. Since then we have had 14.4k, 28.8k, 33.6k and 56k none
of which match standard serial port speeds. You just run the serial port at
the next higher speed it supports (or double or quadruple if using compression).
