Floppy Disk problem on IIc.
I took my beloved and very missed IIc out of the box that made my cat's
bedding.
After years of being in storage it still looked fairly good.
I felt sooo bad for neglecting it for so long.
I placed it on my mahgony desk right next to my PIII Windows Machine, Sony
Vaio Laptop and my Palm III sync craddle. It was a beautiful picture,
especially with the lights out and the amber green monitor on.
However !
Next morning I found the IIc not working !
It refused to eat, and just sat there crying !
My beloved IIc would not say what was bothing her.
Later I found out that over night the Windows machines and the 3com Pilot
was calling it names and making fun of its CPU. And besides they wouldnt let
the poor IIc play in any of its raindeer games ! (Told to me by a snitch,
the cyclops, my Connective Quick Cam, yet another social outcast)
So while my emotionally exhausted IIc slept, I set up a small table
cluttered with VERY OLD calculators, broken appliances and aquarium
equipment that I no longer use. I gently, without waking my IIc, placed it
on to this table.
After several hours I came home and peeked at how the IIc was doing.
Boy was I surprised when I saw that the IIc was feeling better.
It had beaten up the calculators into tiny pieces and gutted out the
appliances.
And strangely my high school reader was open to the short story "Lord of the
Flies".
My IIc's floppy disk I think is running too slowly, and occasionally makes
errors when I use it. Anyway of fixing it ?
