Hi Eric,

Yep. It will work fine. If you take a look at the carte blanche
schematics (http://www.applelogic.org/files/CBSCH01.pdf) you'll see
VCCAUX is driven by 2.5V, which is pretty much spot on to your 2.8v.
Id expect no problems at all.
