And you also have to use the Users & Groups control panel to create a 
user for your Mac. This new user should have the same name and password 
as you;ll use on the GS to log in.
And then you must assign one of the drives on the Mac (or, a folder on 
one of your Mac's drives) to that user. This is done by selecting the 
drive (or folder) and choosing Sharing from the File menu.
You've only got to do all this once.
