The Mac Plus and previous models use a serial mouse, with a DB9 connector,
that's identical to the mouse used with the Apple Mouse Card for the Apple IIe,
and it definitely won't work on the game port.  The Apple IIGS has built-in
support for an ADB mouse, with a miniDIN-8 connector, like those used by the
Mac SE and later (well, up until the iMac).  An ADB mouse should actually be
much easier to find than the older ones.
