Yes, it can only be done in GS/OS.  As for compatibility, the
Focus drive is actually probably compatible with just about
any IDE hard drive.  Alltech has a compatibility list, but those
are just the models they've tested with the drive.  You have
confirmed that a model not on the list works.  It would be
a good gesture to email them so they can add another
model to the compatibility list.
