     ROM 01                         ROM 3
     ----------------------------   ---------------------------
     4 Fast RAM chips               8 Fast RAM chips
     1 ROM chip                     2 ROM chips
     Soldered in battery            Socketed battery
     Connector or solder pads for   No connector or solder pads
        IIe style keyboard or          for IIe style keyboard
        numeric keypad                 or numeric keypad

That should be enough to let you tell the difference visually.
