65816 coprocessor options..
Hi all,
Toms recent post showing the AE 65816 developers card got me to
thinking.
Over the years, there have been quite a few add-on's to supply 65816
processing on a //e..
The AE devel board.
Checkmate made a similar product.
The Transwarp II IIRC has a 65816 socket..
AE Z-RAM Ultra for the //c also has such a port.
Also, AE used to advertise a 65816 option in the RamWorks III
ads, now whether this was an actual piggy-back board for the ramworks
or simply the 65816 devel board I'm not sure.. (or maybe the devel board
requires a ramworks...).
Anyway, I got to thinking, surely there must have been 1 piece of
software
that actually used this ability, though I can't think of one (anyone
help
me out ?)
If I could ever locate the programming information necessary to use one
of these things,
I'd love to track one down and have a play (if for no other reason than
just to add more
nostalgia to my beloved //e).
Cheers,
Matt
