Mac->IIgs AppleTalk -- possibly my only option, a good one?

I have a blue&white G3 400 Mac (that, of course, has no floppy drive).
Apparently all of the USB floppy drives I can add to this machine are
MFM and will not write 800K HFS (or ProDOS) disks. I just ordered a
full IIgs system on eBay and anxously await its arrival. (I've had
40-some-odd machines over the years and the IIgs was easily the most
enjoyable.) Anyway -- I need to find a way to move ShrinkIt disks from
the Mac to the IIgs.

There is an addon for the USB-based b&w G3 that will make the internal
modem port a bonified serial port. I believe I can run AppleTalk thru
it. Is there any forseeable problem with attempting an AppleTalk
connection to the IIgs?? I just need the proper cable, right--the GS
does AppleTalk thru its serial port, right?

Any other ideas would be appreciated. I do have daily access to PC's
at work, so if there was some way to write a GS-readable disk, that
would be great as well.

	Thanks.
