Yes; they are shown as hex values, complete with "$" notation and being in
a list which includes error codes like "$001A". That the codes connected with
messages like "File map destroyed" have the same digits but are decimal in the
Mac list does look pretty bad.

Thanks for the explanation. The FAQs Error List has been updated to
include a snip from this message and the System Failure messages you mention
have been marked to indicate that their accuracy is suspect.
