As long as you don't have Norton do a file check, it will check an HFS
volume from a IIGS just fine.  The only difference is in how the resource
forks are laid out.  It repairs directory structures just fine...or at
least I'd assume it would...never had any errors on my HFS volume on
my GS.

So, I have successfully mounted my IIGS hard drive on my Mac running
Mac OS 8.1 and run norton on the HFS partition.  I just didn't have it
check the ProDOS partitions.  And didn't find any erros on the HFS
partition after using for quite a while after the corrected HFS.FST
came around.
