A daisywheel version of SideSpread would be some hack, but maybe not
impossible. If the printer allows micropositioning, you can do pretty
amazing things with a daisywheel printer. I've seen pictures printed
on a daisywheel, using only the "." character, that were stunning. You
had to use thick paper, and probably needed to replace the daisy wheel
after a few of these. Also, they took hours to print. Literally.
