Something to keep in mind when dealing with Amiga versus IIgs video
signals is that the level of the sync signal may be different.  I'm
not too sure on this but it might be a factor.

Also, I believe the Amiga has separate horizontal and vertical sync
signals and the IIgs uses a composite sync signal.  I use a Commodore
1084S (the standard Amiga 500 monitor) on my IIgs to I hooked the
composite sync from the IIgs to the horizontal sync of the monitor and
left the vertical sync on the monitor with no connection.  You may
need to do this with the scan doubler or possibly make a circuit to
separate the horizontal and vertical syncs from the IIgs' composite
sync.
