Jonathan...

First of all, you might want to consider posting this message in
comp.sys.apple2... you may get better exposure of your message there.
"marketplace" is more for selling stuff and want-to-buy ads.

SOLUTION #1

The EASIEST way I find to get files from your Apple IIe (I'm assuming
you're using 5.25" diskettes) to the PC is to:

1) Give the diskettes to a friend who has an Apple IIGS w/3.5" and 5.25"
drives. Have him/her copy the files from the 5.25" to the 3.5".
2) Take the 3.5" diskette and pop it into a Macintosh running System 7.5
or later. It'll read the diskette fine as long as the Macintosh is
   running PC Exchange.
3) Format another 3.5" disk on the Macintosh as a DOS format. Then, copy
the files from the first disk to the DOS disk.

Doing the above does not require buying any cables or extra hardware.
However, it does require knowing people with an Apple IIGS and
Macintosh.

SOLUTION #2

There are other ways to move the files... You can connect the Apple IIe
to the PC using a null modem cable. However, this requires the Apple
IIe to have a serial card, such as the Apple Super Serial card, or the
Applied Engineering serial card. You'll also need to buy a null modem
cable or serial cross-over cable. Then, you'd use terminal emulation
software on both computers (such as ProTerm on the Apple IIe) using a
good file transfer protocol (xmodem, ymodem, zmodem, etc.)

SOLUTION #3

Some people will make themselves available to transfer the files over
for a service fee. I'll let the people who read this get in contact
with you. As for myself, I'd charge $10 for the first 5.25" diskette
transfer, and $2 per additional diskette. This would include formatting
the file in DOS text format (ASCII, with carriage return/linefeeds).

SOLUTION #4

You can also find an Apple user group near you. Check out the following
website:

<http://www.apple.com/usergroups/>

Some user groups still support Apple II computers. At my user group in
Hawaii (HMAUS), we have Ryan Suenaga and myself who support Apple IIs.

FYI, the PC cannot read Apple II 5.25" diskettes.

Good luck!
