I have a 10 mb Sider hard drive for my //e. I haven't had it set up
for years but got interested again and have set up the system. After
working out a few bugs with the no-slot clock and Y2K, etc. all is
working fine.
When I was more active I had developed a good relationship with the
tech support people at Xebec/Sider. There is a file on the main DOS
3.3 volume of the Sider called "Install PT#4". Years ago they told me
how to access secret hidden utilities by BRUN'ing this file and
hitting one or two keystroke while it is initializing. If you don't
type the right keys, it just comes back to the Applesoft prompt. If
you hit the right keys you have access to some more sophisticated
support utilities. I don't remember what all they do.
You may have guessed my problem. I DIDN'T WRITE DOWN THE SECRET CODE
AND HAVE FORGOTTEN THEM WITH THE YEARS! I believe it may have only
been a single keystroke, but it may have been a control function or
something.
Does anyone know how to access this file?
